I have been doing a lot of thinking. I have done a lot of research. I have read parts of his book, and I have read books about him. I have listened to his words and I have read his speeches. I have looked into his history and associations. From all of this I have come to the conclusion that, if elected, an Obama presidency will be a bad thing for the America we know. That being said while I will be affected by his higher taxes, because I am "ultra-rich", I will not suffer as much as those who vote for him.
Obama himself says in his book that people are going to be disappointed because he has become so many different things to so many people. I agree, but I think he is deliberately leading these people on. His speeches don't give any idea of what he is going to do. They are flowery and full of words that mean little unless tied to a direction. People are voting for words, like "Hope", and not realizing the direction. I have seen smart people fall into the lure of believing he is going to their solve problems, including problems he hasn't even spoken to. People are falling prey to his charisma and associating their wants and needs with his candidacy.
I have heard people talk about how different he is, but his ideas are as old as they were when Karl Marx first came up with them. They have failed time and again, Roosevelt, Hoover, Carter, and the USSR to name a few. Even the Chinese now embrace capitalism. His plans to redistribute wealth using the tax system are ridiculous and dangerous.
If he achieves half of what he says there will be less jobs, poorer healthcare and more government waste. Obama isn't a bad man. He just thinks he is smarter than you are and therefore a better judge of what to do with your money. Unfortunately he is not as smart as he thinks he is, and noone knows what you need better than you do.
My family and I will be okay. I am smart and capable, and I have avoided financial pitfalls before. Higher taxes will be a burden, but I won't hire people to cut my lawn or fix my sprinklers, it sucks to be them but I can't worry about everyone. I won't go out to eat or go on vacation as often either. We will hunker down and save our pennies, protecting our family.
I also have the luxury of not being disappointed when he fails. I don't expect him to help me, so when he doesn't I won't be bothered. I feel sorry for the people who faint at his rallys and swear allegiance to him because they believe he is going to save them, but he will not and can not. You can only save yourself.
